Placement claims on online MBAs are almost entirely unverifiable

The number in the brochure is the highest package, from an unstated cohort, over an unstated period. Ask for the median and watch what happens.

Placement figures on online programmes are the least regulated claims in Indian education marketing. There is no standard definition of what counts, no audit, and no obligation to publish anything at all.

So the number you see is usually the highest offer, sometimes from a campus cohort rather than the online one, sometimes historical.

Ask for the median, by cohort, for the online programme specifically. The response is the data.

What a real answer looks like

  • A median, not a maximum.
  • For the online cohort, not the campus one.
  • For a named intake year.
  • With the number of students it covers.

Institutions that have this will give it to you. Most do not have it, which is itself worth knowing before you pay for two years on the strength of it.

Be especially careful with any programme whose main selling point is a guaranteed job. A guarantee that cannot be enforced is not a guarantee.
